I love to know what makes design people tick. When I see someone with a beautiful home, I always want to poke them and find out how they found their style.
.
I was immediately drawn to Tajah Lane's bright and bold colours and I love the fact Jacinda uses GOTS certified cotton. Here are some of her fantastic tips for making your home a sanctuary.

1.What makes a house a home to you?
A house becomes a home when it tells a story of the owner, when you walk in and get an immediate sense of who is residing there. For me it’s a welcoming warm space that’s vibrant and quirky. Think loads of bright colours, travel treasures, photos, artwork, a bit of an indoor jungle and of course a cat!
.
2. What is your favourite thing in your home?
This is a hard one!! I have a bright yellow side table which I upcycled, and it creates a feature in our extension which I love and everyone always comments on it. Also, I have a crazy silver wooden carved mirror I bought in Singapore its really ostentatious but something about it really spoke to me and I needed to have it! It’s in the hallway and it’s the first thing I see when I walk into the house, a constant reminder of the joy of spontaneity and I still adore it.

4. What are your decorating rules? (If you have any!)
Everything always takes longer than you expect If in doubt paint it, you can always change it later If it feels good do it

5. What home trend do you dislike? (From any era)
Anything too matchy matchy, l prefer a thrown together eclectic look.
.
6. Wallpaper or paint?
Would have to say paint at the moment, but I did design my own wallpaper for Mason’s room, a bold geometric of course!

7. What is your biggest home decorating regret?
Getting a so-called friend to redo our main bathroom when I was heavily pregnant. Ended up with no bathroom for over a year and a lot of heartache in the process, resulting in us ripping it all out and starting afresh.
.
8. What is your biggest extravagance in the home?
We love cooking so good appliances for the kitchen were a must when we renovated.

9. Real or silk plants?
Real
.
10. What is the next thing you'd love to change or decorate in your home?
Ha, I always have things on the go!!! I need to finish our hallway, I painted half of it sunny yellow which looks fab but need to do the wall going up the stairs and will need a serious ladder/scaffold as its really high. Thinking perhaps a runner on the staircase too but need to finish the painting first!
